November 15, 2007 - Edifice, Inc. received the 2007 Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABCC) for the new Education Wing at Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews, NC.

Constructed by Edifice, this $17 million expansion adds a new 3-story 117,000sf education wing plus remodeled 30,000sf of the existing facility. The main level addition  includes preschool offices, a music room, training room and kindergarten room. The main level also includes media center and café-style meeting space for visitors & special guests. The lower level includes reception desk, resource center, and space for Caring Ministry Offices and prayer room with outside access. The upper level includes children’s ministry offices and an auditorium that seats 350.

The church remained fully operational during construction creating challenges in safety, scheduling, logistics, and coordination--all of which were successfully met through innovation and construction excellence.
