Edifice Projects Receive LEED® Certification
|

According to the U.S. Green Building Council, recent LEED® certified projects include three
Kohl’ s Department Stores in North Carolina. The Kohl’s Department store in Fuquay and Salisbury were listed as LEED® Certified; the third Department store in Knightdale, NC was listed as LEED® Silver.
All constructed by Edifice Inc., these projects represent three of the 77 Certified North Carolina projects listed on the USGBC’s North Carolina Triangle Chapter website.
Kohl’s has a long-term goal of sustainability driving the construction of their stores. They incorporate sustainable design and construction in their stores through such things as construction pollution prevention, water-efficient building and landscaping, construction waste management, recycled and regional sourced building materials as well as the use low VOC materials for better air quality.
Though the practices used in these three Kohl’s stores led to LEED® Certified projects for Edifice, we have and continue to implement sustainable building practices into many of our projects each year.
While many of our operations staff is either LEED® Accredited or Green Advantage Certified, Edifice’s entire preconstruction department holds their LEED® Accreditation. Our experienced employees understand the many benefits and requirements involved with incorporating sustainable design practices into our construction projects.
